Shaquille O’Neal is known for his towering presence on the basketball court, but off the court, he’s just as committed to making a difference. This time, the NBA legend, Hall of Famer and business mogul is turning his attention to the next generation of innovators by launching a scholarship program designed specifically for young entrepreneurs.
Shaq has long believed in the power of education and opportunity. Over the years, he’s earned advanced degrees himself and invested in dozens of businesses, from restaurants to tech ventures. Now, he’s taking that experience and creating a path for ambitious young people who want to follow in his entrepreneurial footsteps.
The scholarship program will provide financial assistance to students with bold business ideas, particularly those who may not otherwise have access to startup capital or educational resources. Beyond funding, Shaq wants the program to include mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities—because as he often says, “Success is a team sport.”
As a “Shaq Scholar,” which will be part of the Campus Merit Scholars program, accepted students will receive a full-tuition scholarship to earn their Associate of Arts in Business Administration or IT from Campus.
For many students, this initiative could mean the difference between keeping a business dream on paper and bringing it to life. Whether it’s launching a small tech company, opening a local business, or creating a nonprofit, the program is about encouraging creativity and resilience.
Shaq’s larger-than-life personality and business success make him a natural role model for young entrepreneurs. By combining his passion for education with his drive to uplift others, he’s showing that being a true champion isn’t just about winning games—it’s about helping the next generation win in life.
